OG Canadian press with the best mix available (save for the dub side of the blank 45). That was by far the best Jamaican funk/jazz collection I've seen on eBay in a lonnnnngggggg time.

Amazing as is the One Essence (I belive he had up). that Harold Butler MEditation would knock your socks off, too. Lcuky I was able to pick these up before the pack came.
I got a copy of Pharoah Sanders' "Deaf Dumb and Blind"
Love "Let Us Go Into the House of the Lord"... especially Cecil McBee's playing in that quiet middle part. Beautiful.
never been a fan of that one, although the musicians featured are top notch.
speaking of pharoah sanders (and sonny sharrock, and by the way, "black woman" is incredible), found a nice copy of "tauhid" earlier. great rekkid.
yeah Tauhid is probably my fave but Deaf Dumb Blind is right up there, I can still remember where I was/what I was doing the first time I heard that record.
that charles williams is one of my all-time favorite records from start to finish. nice gospel record singing about angels being his special friends.
one of the only records that can make me cry. absolutely necessary in my life. the gospel, the soul, the funk, and the jazz can all be heard.

Great tune. Lifesavers records did a 7" reissue of this tune with an instrumental on the flip.
I JUST posted this in the wants section. That sounds just like the OG inst. with some humpy times on top. What record is this off of again?
Yeah it sounds the same as the "The Solid Gold Orchestra" inst of the Ester byrde
It's from the album on the top right called (Twenty Greatest Disco Party Runaways) "The one's that got away" on Alaska, It's just a comp of Alaska releases, It also came out on 7"
Ester Byrde has no release date but this version is from 75 so not sure which came first??
My uncle got Dr John's autograph in a NOLA airport years ago. Said even then he was with a thick juju entourage and looked like he was 1,002 years old.
Side note: I was jamming in the car back home in gridlock with my gf coming back from a record show in Boston to "Right Place, Wrong Time." That song is underappreciated and kicks major ass!!!!

I brought along a Dr. John LP ("Juju Man on Topflite) for him to sign. He looked at the cover and laughed, showed it to his sax player and then asked me my name was. He signed it, we talked for a bit and then I headed out to the parking lot. I didn't read what he'd written til I got to the car. He wrote: "To Neal, eventhough this is bootleg keep on keeping on, Dr. John."
