for me, it's a toss up between progressive ambient tech-house, vocal two-step, funky BREAKZ, & of course my all time fave... lazer trance (pronounced LAAAAAAY-ZUH TRONCE).

    Hi PLUR!

My favorite is intelligent dance music. All other dance music is ignorant.

Broken Beat is mentally hip hop, smoothed out on the nujazz tip, with a crunchy garage feel appeal to it.

    yeah, broken beat..

I like Warp stuff, too. Also minimal stuff like what Chain Reaction, Basic Channel and Plastikman put out and I like most things that Kit Clayton does.

I'm partial to electro and electro-related genres. Artists like Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, etc. Dark dark stuff is where it's at. Some of that ghetto-tech DJ Assault and DJ Godfather, too.

Anything Andrea Parker is affiliated with. Peep her work for Mo'Wax and all the stuff she is doing on her own label, Touchin' Bass. Next level. Her work with David Morley is especially

Some Aphex and Autechre and Warp stuff is nice, too. Muslimgauze (RIP) and Venetian Snares got that experimental crack.

Can anyone recommend any of this new Ghostly International stuff?

Top one nice one get sorted! Coming-of-age-moments-on-ecstacy-track for myself, and probably many other luv'd up twats across England. Wicked. In all seriousness, I'd forgotten about 'rave' music, but considering the impact it had at the time, all of that stuff was really good - and equally important, a big, big change in the-whole-music-scene-and-stuff-man-it-was-like-a-Summer-of-Love-'88-revolution-that-got-started, and when you compare what's going on now, it's a bit lame impact/new/different/original-wise.

that means absolutely nothing in American. but, there's a track on the record that's basically just a stereotypically early 90s house piano riff and some of those round Roland bass notes over Amen Brother and that shit sounds hot.. yes as in.. even today. well, some of you may not agree...

Because of the stupidly thick Landon accent, I spent most of my adolescence thinking that only blokes called "Dan" were allowed in... oh, the delights the lucky bastards must have had; paying over the odds prices for watered down lager that they'd only spill on the dance floor as they vainly tried to get near the one fit girl in the club who wasn't gurning but was already surrounded by bigger, rougher looking Dans. I knew a bloke called Dan, but he hadn't even kissed a girl, let alone had a sniff of lager or a toke on a spliff.
