like show&tell, or acid archives, etc. Anyone know any good ones that have more than like 10 reviews? I've seena lots of 'em but they are usually kinda lacking. I really love show&tell the best, but I think the dude Will is kinda not doing it anymore.I'm seriously thinking about getting a few folks to contribute & putting one up myself.

yeah, I was just pretty recently hipped to that one. it's neat. I guess I just have an idea of what I'd like to see, but have not yet. If I ever get motivated enough to do this I will for sure let you know. I think a pretty dope site could be done with contributions from soulstrut folks.

It's heavy on text, light on images, but you might want to peruse WFMU's Kenny G's Popular Guide to Unpopular Music

    True

An open message to all such "other men": please stay far away from me.

honestly, one of the things that fascinates me about such records is that they are/were "turds".

Are you all hip to my friends Vinyl Lives site? You probably remember his zine/record list from back in the days.

I guess what I like about show&tell that I feel is lacking in most other similar sites is....hmmmmm.... the attitude that this type of stuff is deeper than records - deeper than music even. there are anthropological roots. There is a mystery that can/should not be solved with lots of this stuff. Show&tell is informative, but also allows for a sense of wonder.

I should post these in the big dude forum, nut here goes:

Examples of different artists covers: http://www.geocities.com/Vienna/Strasse/8599/LPartists.html

    Discographys of budget labels: http://gravediggervideo.com/archives.html

45 labels posted for their graphic appeal. http://www.norelevance.com/45rpm/index.html

Not what you are asking for, but of intrest.

The one I miss dearly was Rare Music Radio on grandroyal.com. They would play the song, but there was also a picture of the Cover/Label as well as an informative blurb about the record. It was more raerz than bizzare/outsider stuff, but facinating.

This site has a lot of links to weird/bizarre records sites. But most of them show only the covers; no reviews.

Anyway, it's worthy checking them. Lots of funny stuff.

I haven't met him yet, but we have been buying, trading and selling to each other for more than 10 years.

He bought a big lot of sealed records on the Fax label a few years ago.

That's my site. I've been working on a personal guide to private press weirdness and budget/exploito/local stuff. Should be up in a month or two.

Anyone remember that page with obscure private press stuff. Had lots of samples/pics from records by crippled people, some guy playing with two elephants, funeral lps etc.
