  • LOL!! My girl said something similar when i was playing some Sun Ra stuff the other day.

  • Similar: Listening to some anonymous South American (Mexican?) cover of "Funky Nassau" and the fair lady says "Fuckin' Asshole? Is that what they're saying?"

Thought about it for a second and she was right.
Now EVERY version sounds like they are saying these words.
Mentally irreversable and in turn, hilarious.
Sing it to yourself and you'll laugh.

  • Hotpants, ehhh hotpants!! To make to dance, eh hotpants!
My wife feels that way about damn near every private record I own.

  • HOOT PANZ [/b]

    1st verse starts like this:

...asshole's gone fuckin'... asshole's got hole...

hot-TA panNNts! SMOKIN AH!!... hahjt ponts.

Thankfully my lady is too kind to comment on every stupid record I buy.

But she loves the Victor Oliya soundway 45 that's a totally surreal james brown mash-up. And the 4th track on ghana soundz 2 where they insist on getting the audience to "do the funky".

So now "do the funky" is our slang for anything. what's going on tonight? oh I gotta DOOO THUH FUNKY. which could mean anything... sex, movie, party, dinner out, or TV.

You are my love every night
you are the life in my bed
now i can kiss you and tell you
    I love you more.

El Amor - "I Love You More"

  • Mexican funk madness:

"I have a women will a suede hop pans,

She gets a stringing inna her guitar,

She wear jello blue yean and tha wooden shoes

she go to the party just to make to dance.. well ALRIGHT!!"

I love it because this is how everyone in my family talks.

the only thing worse than this is the Spanish Grease soundtrack which, unfortunately, they used the word Vaseline as a translation for Grease, so the song, translated, ends up saying: We used Vaseline, it was the movement, with your girl etc.etc.

    not so

Shit, everyone in the place came over to see why I was laughing so loud.

2c: The more you can do the more you have to do.
Yes, being multitalented can be a pain in the funky nassau.

    Heh.

There was a kid I went to high school with named Jasper Kettles who always got the words to songs completely wrong.

My favorite was the Beastie Boys joint where they all chant:

"Ali Baba and the 40 Theives!"

"Ali Baba and the 40 Theives!"

Jasper used to swear up and down that they were actually saying:

"Ali's popples and the Force MDs!"

"Ali's popples and the Force MDs!"

I still don't know what a "popple" is.

Isn't it what they really mean anyway ??? I always thought the title Funky Nassau was nothing more than a euphemism for the real lyrics.

uhh... no. I'm pretty sure they're expounding on the funkiness of the island. A euphemism for what real lyrics? "Nassau's gone funky, Nassau's got soul"???
