    My oldschool industry homie said it was the middle eastern intro/outro that might have been a little too strange for the top 40 during that period, though i think it just makes it all the better. Shit knocks me over every time.

    45 only. On Mercury. WLPromo and a FEW regular issues exist. There was a "pressing flaw" on the OG that reportedly led to a culling of the regular-issue stock. Goddamn shame.

    There actually is a 12" from the early 80's(?) (UK?) also - otherwise, yes, 45 only and a tough as nails title to pull at that. If you want a vinyl copy to hold you over, the 2 LP Neville Brothers anthology "Treacherous" that you see everywhere for $5 has it on it. There's a best of Aaron Neville LP on Rhino that has it also.

    The Trinikas "Remember Me". I'll be damned if that schitt doesn't sound like it could've been a big hit during the time that it came out. Murderin' most of the Stax and Hot Wax / Invictus stuff from that era (and trust me, I rarely EVER say some relatively obscure 45 is kickin' the ass of the more established bands / singers from BITD).

    Interesting factoid: This song was recorded to commemorate the death of Marsha Bratton, 1/3 of the original Trinikas trio. The A-side "Black Is Beautiful" originally appeared on a Douglass High School LP from Oklahoma City (where the girls were from), and before the girls could get to Kansas City to record a proper studio version with Louis Chachere, Ms. Bratton passed.



    Adds even more depth to an already deep song.
