    A few days ago I recorded a classic disco mix for a local club in which I would like to start a disco night. The mix should showcase a a selection of classic party rocking disco tracks, nothinng fancy or obscure. It's a fun mix nonetheless.

    'Stringfellas' - A Cinematic Funk & Soul Experience.


    Finally decided to release this mix I've had in my archives for a while. Was never fully happy with it, but alas it's a new year so I'm letting it go.

    As the title suggests this mix is a collection of funky, soulful and cinematic songs which make good use of string arrangements.

    I made this mix from records pulled from a crate of reggae 12"s I bought that originated in Harry's collection. Most were signed 'Harry" but many amongst them were signed 'Spliffy Dread'. Turns out Spliffy was a deceased former DJ friend of Harry's. Both were Rasta's with dynamite riddims.

    This is the long lost Volume 1 to the cult classic Trap Door series. And as far as I know, it was only available on cassette and there is no further information online. This is 60 minutes of Psych, Prog, Avant-Garde, Free Jazz, Private Press and Just Plain weird all along appealing to beatheads!
