So, irate Gooners tried to shred legendary rap producer Mike Dean after his shocking display during this evening's Arsenal/Chelsea game.
So far, I've not needed anything a 3d printer can make. Placcy figurine of myself? Keyring? Shit you wouldn't pick up after it fell out of a Christmas cracker..
I've seen some pretty incredible art made with a 3d printer, in some ways it's a case of you're only limited by your imagination cause these things seem to be able to make pretty much anything. I can't recall dudes name but this one guy create ceramic vases and the likes in a 3d program on his PC, them he digitally manipulates then causing these crazy distortions that would just be impossible to construct with traditional methods, then a 3d printer makes then a reality. There's also some bods who recon they'll soon be able to get a giant one of these to poop out a house in under a day, they have a working prototype.
Dooood, it's art, you can't actually use it as something practical like a vase. Like giant shinny garden balls and the like you don't need any of it, but it has it's place.
They've been making a big fuss about the fact that you can in theory print out a gun, although attempts so far have been rather pathetic. But obviously the theory extends to anything technology can manufacture. So in a few years time you could end up with a program that will let you, for example, design a bike sculpted to your personal specifications, ergonomicly constructed be perfect for you without any adjustments, then simply print it into existence. And if anything ever breaks on the bike, you can just print out a new identical part.
Obviously a lot of the truly practical applications for the ordinary man using this technology aren't a realty yet, so a lot of it is just baubles and trinkets, but the future applications seem endless.
I do honestly think it's a great idea, I mean, it will help to end some slave labour and make things cheaper, right?
And when they are printing basses and shit, sign me up.

Witnessing the gusto with which this new generation have taken to abusing themselves to internet porn and the apparent damage said addictions are apparently having on their brains, the moment we invent a halfway reasonable sexbot I think it will be game over for Western civilisation.

Having a birfday the day before the biggest party night of the year has always kinda sucked, but these days the prospect of a double hangover appeals less and less so I had a pretty quiet one. Spent a good portion of the day helping make an epic curry from Rick Stein's 'India' book, complete with homemade chapatis and everything. Seriously, if you like curry everything I've made from this book has been freakin delishious. I grew up in an area with a very high British Asian population where we were kinda spoiled for really good curry houses, and pretty much everywhere else I've lived since has fallen short, in Cornwall you can pretty much forget about finding good curry unless you're will to travel for an hour or so. So I'm loving this book.
Tl;dr I am now officially sad and old.

there are lots of great books on specific countries/clubs, but my two favorite that take a broad look at the sport are:
this is a very easy read, you can go through it in one afternoon. Not exactly a detailed history of the sport, it's more a collection of moments that Galeano describes in very nice prose.
this is the ultimate football history book, nothing else comes even close to its breadth and depth in research. It chronicles the history of the sport from its inception up to present day, covering every continent and placing it in the context of each region's economic and political development. You sit down to read about the history of football and somehow end up learning about the Algerian liberation movement or the De Stijl school in the Netherlands or the gambling industry in southeast Asia.
also, if you prefer your history in the form of sound and moving pictures, this series is pretty good:
