Looks great. Tara Reid is my favourite actress so it's great to see her back.

Sorry that should be read as Tara Reid is the actress I fancied most growing up. But seriously, The Big Lebowski and not so seriously American Pie and Van Wilder.

this is really just Snakes on a Plane 2.0

I'll admit I enjoyed Snakes on a Plane, but I had a lot of whiskey in me when I went to see it.

Snakes was a vital hit before it came out.

No one watches the SyFy Channel. The hype has been after last night.

their previous movies were pretty hyped but twitter definitely propelled this to the next level
megashark vs giant octopus was hyped but twitter hype > bloggeur hype which existed back then

the poster for Sharknado had been floating around for a few weeks, so there was a little buzz before the trailer. It's all the same shit though: ridiculous concept + obvious one-liner title. Doesn't even matter if it's good or not, the movie sells itself just because of the ludicrous title. See also: Megashark vs Giant Octopus; Dude, Where's My Car?

is this straight to cable though? The only suprise is that a tv movie manages this kind of hype.

it's been at least a decade now that Hollywood has been making mostly B-movies with A-movie budgets.

these dudes are doing b-movies with c-movie budgets so I guess they win?

Special features are essential. French director dude has some hillarious line about the amazingness of boobies in 3d.

Intentional camp value is not my thing, but I get the appeal of it. I guess this has a tie-in with Roger Corman tapping into the 'social media' game with his new pay-to-play YouTube channel. He was on a few radio stations last month plugging natural disaster / killer beast hybrid movies.

This is on TV right now. Ridiculous.

  • It's watching this movie that inspired me to come back and register a new account. I Iooked at a grip of airborne sharks tearing into the flesh of human beings and instantly knew I needed to return and unleash a dolonado on the aging hipsters that shelter on this site like woodlice under an abandoned paint can.
