So good, just descovered them after reading Patti Smith's book.

Crazy Springsteen did a cover of them.

State Trooper from Nebraska is a total bite of Suicide.

Everyone jocks the first album on Red Star, but I reckon this one is almost as good.

I saw them open for the Clash in 1978. Most of the audience hated them, but I thought they were pretty cool.

Patti in the book says they used to scare the fuck out of people.

Yeah, I posted something about this very video a while back. Donald Fagen, Reverend Jim Jones, and Mitch Ryder all choking each other inside a single black turtleneck. Riveting.

"Ghost Rider" has to be one of the greatest first-song-first-side-first-record jernts ever. On par with "Foxy Lady" and the GOAT, Sly's "Underdog."

But yeah, I, too, need to check that other record.

    ...

In a side note: Though I do really like, surprisingly enough, that Inner City's "Good Life" he did, it's amazing how many truly great songs exist as just-okay cover versions by various Mick-Collins-related outfits.

Also, check your man Martin Rev--his eyewear game as serious as ever--giving zero fucks while bare-knuckling a Korg behind soulstrut fave M.I.A.:
