Jay-Z certainly helped put it over the top branding and image-wise, but he didn't do anything crucial.

I took my girlfriend to go see the Great Gatsby the other day and most of the music, if not all, was Jay-z or Beyonce related. It could have easily been a 2.5 hr music video for 'Watch The Thrown'.
