Out of curiousity, what does MMM play in his DJ sets nowadays? I follow him on Twitter and see him playing stuff in Las Vegas, festivals, etc. in recent times. My dated frame of reference in seeing him live is all Skratch Pikl stuff from the 90s, and I guess more recently as Beastie Boys' DJ. I really wonder if he gets away with cutting records for 20 minutes and his Rush "Tom Sawyer" routine in a casino club set, or if he's playing Top 40 / raps with some zigga-ziggaz thrown in there. Anyone have a recent experience?

    His set on Scratch All The Way Live is a lot of his classic shizzle with some metal thrown in. Latest mix he did "Napalm Rockets" is dubstep. He's got a show on xfm for a while, not sure if he's still doing it. That'd probably give a taste of what he's playing live, seems that they're up on mixcloud

    Not seen him live though which may negate all of the above.

    he just wrapped up a gig at an Organic Food Harvest Festival near where I live.....

    I'm going to Montreal next weekend with some old roomates. Turns out he's playing somewhere with Rahzel and DJ JS-1 on the Friday night.


    We all decided the $40 may be better spent on a lap dance.

    No idea whatsoever B, but he absolutely murdered it when i saw him last ~ 98 or 99 at Sublime in Sydney after a Beastie's show on their Hello Nasty tour. Damn, I sound old almost ..

    i remember i had a 30 count box of those i flipped to my japanese contact for 25 or 30 a piece. those were the good ol days when the japanese still really cared about rap records

    Fuck one of the best memories. awesome secret style free gig that killed it. That place was literally packed to the ceiling. And MMM tore it up for hours. And this was the OG Sublime not the Home nightclub BS room.... I even managed to slip him a few copies of some ocal vinyl and he grabbed them with no sweat or attitude...

    He killed it when I last saw him in the early 2000's in Montreal. Only downside was that I was straight up deaf for a couple of days afterwards.
