i don't get why fools are trying to critique this like it's an actual record.

it's a fucking rap for SNL.

but even if this was some real shit, it's the one of the most creative things to come out of NYC for a while now.

I actually only do it to subliminally annoy people. It's hilarious when people argue with me, and then call me out on it.

what? i couldn't even read the whole thing, it was giving me a headache. should this guy be weighing in on hip-hop at all? (seriously, should he? i didnt even finish the thing, i admit my ignorance)

a better title should be "SNL Narnia skit: better than the real SNL???"

    from another board:

I thought I would call everyone's attention to the horrifying, the inevitable...

    LAZY SUNDAY TRIBUTES.

There's at least five on Youtube.com. But these are the only ones I've found that kind of wrote their own rap:

This one is loosely about the 10 commandments: http://www.youtube.com/w/10-Commandment-RAP?v=8P5cie3_f5w&search=samberg

And this one is about Wal-Mart: http://www.youtube.com/w/It%27s-Wal-Mart-Time%21?v=QdhEkRHpjlE&search=samberg

in other words: oliver, it's time to change your avatar.

I'm still thinking E might have ghostwritten for this

easy on Edan. Paul Barman on the other hand...

  • What are you saying about Edan's raps if you're comparing it to an SNL sketch

anyways I'm just geeked that these are dudes I knew (!) from Berkeley High.

    Fall back, we special

Prix fix got me on lean. Lateradez. Have a fun Sunday evening on soulstrut.

    The sequel!

I have to say, as far as "sequels to parody raps" go, this holds up rather well.

It's their swan song- the last SNL Digital Short, now that Andy is leaving, all the dudes have moved on. I thought it was quite fitting.

    Wow, seven year old thread!

I'm just baffled by the idea that they'd let these go because Samberg is leaving. Not to say those dudes weren't seriously talented- I think I offered to buy them a beer in these pages for "Dick In a Box," which is still my favorite- but those shorts were probably the most culturally significant thing on SNL since Wayne's World. And, I'm sure there are at least three comics in NYC right now that could take their place to keep that brand going.

Is it clear they're ending the entire segment? Or was this more about Samberg saying, "It's been fun; I'm out!"
