I was raised in North Hollywood and so many classics were recorded - but not "from" - there: Devonshire Sound Studios (^ on "Nevermind"), etc. And there was the Licorice Pizza record store chain. Angry Samoans FTW, though.
Ooh I forgot this rare 1979 gem recorded on a farm in Eastern Wash. Has a pretty dope break and some crazy sounds, and the sappy "Baby" song has become a cult fave. Even Jimmy Fallon mentioned it.
Originally from the DC area, and lived downtown for years. Spent much time at Tracks as a youth. They'd let me in with my older brother's ID, only had to be 18,etc. Turned me on to house music. I remember waiting every week to hear this jam and see the crowd go apeshit.
