We had Mexico in the finals against Brazil in our pool as a dark horse ting, so that was a really tough ending to take. The more I look at the play, a) the more I agree it was a fair (but unintentional) penalty and b) the more I notice Robben's OTT back-arching form on that dive.
No sign of Sloth Kongs, but about 20 dudes called Cos, George and Stav repping for the Greek Cypriot contingent.
And surprisingly, local hard nut Esref from the Turkish Cypriot mob. He did ten years for attempted murdet back in the 80s. With a snooker ball in a sock.
To keep the WC connection, it was of course a football sock, natch.
The Greek shlubs do it!
I hate these teams that try to park the ball, it's a bad approach. It's like prevent defense in football, you gotta be at least slightly aggressive.
unreal. couldn't be happier that the tico's advance, and that i don't have to look at samaras another day longer. also stoked te game was won and not simply given away. 70m of 11-10 ball must have been torture.
I've just come back from the Raval. Algeria fans blockaded a street, set-off a massive roman candle firework in the middle of the road and broke out the drums and were cheering and dancing around like nutters... because they'd made it to half time level!
Great vibes.
I'm going to miss the World Cup. Today was the last match here, and we've had gringos of all shapes and sizes come through. Aussie gringos, Dutch gringos, Korean gringos, Algerian gringos, French gringos, Honduran gringos, German gringos, wannabe-german brazilian gringos, wannabe-italian brazilian gringos, wannabe-gringo brazilian gringos. It's the only time I've seen this city be open to strangers.
I'm hoping we get another World Cup next year, and the year after, and the year after that, and so on and so forth...

B/w Sokratis!
OG!
That left winger is good.
WE ARE NOT GONNA LOOSE A 4TH FINAL!
Then a couple of tough tackles and they're crumbling a tad.
Lol
Face like an angel, studs up naughty boy.
His name is Yeltsin FFS
So uh, that foo that just subbed in for Costa Rica spit on his hands, rubbed it IN HIS HAIR, then HI TENNED HIS TEAMMATE!
Some nice limon-scented pomade?

(and Campbell HAS to be a better option than Sanogo for Arsenal)
#puravida running wild.
It felt like the Greeks were bullying Costa Rica and towards the end the Ticos stood up for themselves.
I'm picking the super eagles for the upset.
b/w
Karim Benzema and Shia LaBoeuf...brothers from other mothers? Not quite doppelgangers, but sayin', tho.,,
Great vibes.
