    grapefruit for sure. I love that little bitter aftertaste.

    So I've only ever bought these beverages in a can but after seeing this thread peeped the local selection at my grocery. Question: In the bottles, there was a visible pulp-type material floating around the bottom; is that normal? They were on sale and I am just wondering if they were on sale for a reason.

    Yea, it's normal. Sediment like you get at the bottom of Orangina bottles.

    who will ride for bitter?

  • bassiebassie 11,710 Posts
    as in the taste?

    I will - rapini, grapefruit and limes, Campari, coffee, bitter melon (karela), eggplant, olives, cumin, turmeric, fenugreek, dark chocolate, dark ales....some of my favourite foods and, other than beer which I just don't really drink, all those are part of my regular diet.

    san pelligrino bitter.

    It's basically like Campari, soda version. Good with a lot of ice to cut extra cheesy pizza.

    I like tasting things...especially if they have a specious appearance of novelty.

    i just discovered these shits and they are fucking amazing!! best soft drink out there. figured it deserves its own thread since we don't talk too much about music here these days . who else is down with the blood orange?

    I imagine it's great with vodka!

    As I'm enjoying it with vodka right now, I can attest that it is great.

    Grapefruit is easily the best. Those who havent fusked with it....need to

    Chinotto is not for me

    Add some nice tequila to the grapefruit and you're laughing. I like the Blood Orange one too goes well with lots of spirits. I get lots of these type of premium mixers sent to me due to work and the San Pelligrino ones were some of the better ones although they cant fusk with Fever-Tree!

    BTW if Blood Orange is your thang.... you should check this

    Drinking now:

    - Dark Rum (Abuelo 7 Year)
    - Juice 1/2 giant organic lime
    - Small bottle of Chinotto

    It's the drink of the summer, avoid at your peril.

    I may be moving this to that other thread soon...

    I REALLY need to try this. Got introduced to abuelo 3 years ago when my father in law asked me to bring some back from miami for him since he grew up on it being from panama. Real smooth.. You will be hearing back from me in a few days my good sir.

    I try to stay away from Nestl?? products as much as possible these days. Monsanto things too. Coca Cola as well. Just too much shit going on in there / with them.

    Who's tried this? I had a great twist on the Paloma cocktail made using this. Very nice.

    speaking of the grapefruit, I ride for the toronja jarrito:

    it's the only one of theirs I like, the others are too sweet. Although I don't think I ever tried the tamarindo one.

    Yo Bassie I think that PC Frizante stuff comes in Blood Orange too, Ting is classic.

    Fuck why do I love carbonation so much?

  • bassiebassie 11,710 Posts
    PC does orange and coffee, too!

    You have not lived in Toronto til you get patty coco bread and Ting at Randy's while you circumvent bootleg DVD sales and check girls with the barber shop crowd at Eglinton and Oakwood. I'm 20minutes away - link me if you're ever in the area

  • I've only seen these in Africa, but I ride for both.

    Krest = bitter lemon soda
    Stoney's = ginger beer

    And Limca in India is also the shit (similar to bitter lemon)
