The Story Corp stories they broadcast are always good, but often extremely maudlin.

Guy is a social worker in Manhattan, lives in Brooklyn.
Guy is dedicated to his work, to giving and to being a nice guy.
Coming home one winter night guy is mugged.
He hands over his wallet and says "you look cold, do you want my coat".
Mugger looks at him like he is playing games, but it really is just the guy caring.
Mugger takes coat and guy says, I always stop at the diner on the way home, can I buy you dinner?
Mugger says, ok.
They go to the dinner, waitress greats him by name, regulars say hello, when the food comes the cook comes out says hi.
Mugger asks if guy owns the place.
No.
Why does everyone know you?
I eat here every night.
Check comes, guy says I'll happily pay for dinner, but you have my wallet.
Mugger gives wallet back.
They say goodby, guy goes home happy that he was able to buy a guy dinner and give him a coat.
