Naw, I've always frowned at those who can't appreciate 2Pac.

I was against him before I was for him, so I can appreciate those who can't appreciate 2Pac.

Bassie - in my experience, a lot of people who love hip hop think Kanye is a great rapper.

i cant totally appreciate tupac for 'his contributions to the genre' blah blah blah..... i just dont like him.

No on Kanye, but people on here might be surprised at how high 3 Stacks rates nowadays.

And to me, not liking a 2Pac or a Twista implies not liking a shit-ton of great rap, inspired by those artists, that has come out in their wake.

Some of y'all just don't like rap, period. And that's not even news.

You don't get to hang in many places round these parts openly hating on 2Pac. Not my doing really, but I support it.

  • i'd have far more tolerance of tupac if his songs weren't so musically bad.

    it's just insipid music.

Meh. I like plenty o' rap. Tupac was an actor playing a role, and his shit just does nothing for me. I'm glad he loved his momma though. That's commendable.

Thou must consult the neighborhood elders before taking the Pac's name in vein!

  • Harvey, why are you defending 2pac? The whole point of this thread is people talking about good rappers they don't like.

For the people who hate common, can you get with common sense from the resurrection days?

    California Love aint elevator music.

It's not bad stuff, by any means, but not wholeheartedly.

how isCommon even in this convo?

im a fan but he doesnt appear on my best mc list.

arent we talmbout kobe, lebron, jordan or artest, jamison and horace grant?

  • bassiebassie 11,710 Posts
Revisit your calculations. It is possible to like Z-Ro, which I do, and not like Tupac, see above.

I believe this is where you tell me I don't really get Z-Ro, nor will I ever truly appreciate or understand him or rap - not even life itself! - because I don't pray at The Temple of Tupac.

Which rappers on your best mc list are the ones you don't like?

Depends how you read the thread title. You could take it as "make a list of the best rappers, then tell us which ones you don't like" or you could read it as "think of the rappers you don't like???which are generally considered the best?" I read it as the latter.

i have to question ones evaluation skills if common is on thier best list.

The jury's out on Z-Ro for me. How does he feel about his momma?

Common is not generally considered at the same table as Kool G Rap. thats bullshit.
