Nice score on the Leo's Sunshipp!

Mailbox find - crappy video, but you get the idea:

I knew Freddy Fender from the cheesy records on TV when I was a kid - I had no idea until recent years about his early stuff.

No doubt he's got some stock...

I got it as a BIN, though - was it also up for auction?

  • PATXPATX 2,820 Posts
yeah he had one or two up for auction, went for around $70 and that's what he based the BIN price on.

Now, someone find a large stock of the Cizneros Garza and I will be happy in the fuzzed out braeks dept!

hi, yup, its on the jugotron label, been a while since i pulled one of those, thrift find, looked dope, not in the best condition but still, never heard any of their other records, pro arte was a first for me, gotta say, did not live up to my hopefull expectations haha, dope gatefold cover, pretty cool name, went over it twice just to be sure, and the music is unfortunately not my cup, too rockish in the wrong way for me, glad to hear though that you got some heat with this band, cause this album is not recommendable imo..

i never heard of him before finding this, is he lol-ed at? "the two sides of" on this one are a rather tame semi classical side and a side thats kind of interesting in spots. hes no dorothy ashby... but i kinda dig what im hearing.

I concur. I have been waiting to find a good clean mono copy in the field and it showed up yesterday for a few bucks!
It is really interesting to see what Coltrane/Adderley/Cobb/Chambers did together without Miles leading the way. Even Wynton Kelly in place of Evans makes this outing so much more straight ahead instead of searching like Kind of Blue was.

    Thanks for the comment.
