OK, after collecting loops and samples since I started buying records, buying a MPC 5 years ago and then nothing more than occasional noodling with it I finally did my very first beat. It's very incomplete still, needs some more variation on the drums and some other stuff. Although I know that it's only a beginners work I want to keep going from this point on. I'm really interested what you think should be worked on more extensively etc. Be as harsh as necessary.

I am probably not really qualified to comment, but I liked what I heard in terms of simplicity, but i feel it was lacking in the melody and arrangement department, listen to this as it takes a similar kind of approach but is executed really well!
i got the idea for this after checking this thread: http://www.soulstrut.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/60396/
i thought the Pete Drake track was dope and could go for a lil flip, nuthin fancy just a beat to "hopefully" bob your head to..made this a year ago and never went back to it..

^^^^^^^^this is completely dope, i like this a lot, towards the end where it gets really broken and choppy is where its at, so much dope shit in this thread..here is sumthin i made a few months ago, i just got a round to uploading it, another dubby type sounding beat, now that i relisten to it, it sounds a bit redundant...lol, i sequenced it out for verses, but then realized it wasn't anything that i would actually record lyrics for so i left it...
