    Different economic standards of living.

  • whenever i'm in montreal, i'm absolutely floored by the amount of amazing looking apartment that are "a louer". maybe it's a supply and demand thing.

the average 1 bedroom in Toronto goes for about $900 a month. Is that at least ballpark? What about Vancouver?.

off the top of my head i'm not sure, but i would guess you're looking in the same general ballpark in terms of price here. if you are prepared to live in east vancouver and share a house with people (read: aspiring artists) you could be looking at as little as 400-500 a month. you could prob. score a decent studio apt. downtown for 700-800.

the winters here are mild, usually a lot of rain and it rarely snows (but when it does the city goes into confusion mode).
