To be fair, is that any worse than a chicken-fried steak breakfast? It's just packaged, uh, different.

"The Double Down features two boneless white meat chicken filets (in Original Recipe or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel's Sauce. The Original Recipe version contains 540 calories and 32 grams of fat. The grilled option will save customers 80 calories and 9 grams of fat."

i remember when this went down

  • 540 calories about 200 less than my standard breakfast, although the KFC jawn has a third more fat.

In short: this is not so bad, provided you only eat one.

Isnt this gonna be paired w/ at least one side and some soft drink?

It's on you to make the healthy choice.

Full Disclosure: I've only had KFC once or twice in my life. I was raised in a Popeye's family.

    Ha...

Kentucky Fried Chicken was actually some good ass food in the 70's.

  • it was good into the 80's and then it all changed. the pieces became smaller and more uniform and they tweaked the 14 herbs and spices.

    Bingo.

Does the bucket even exist anymore?

That used to be shit when we went to the beach.

As a kid Kentucky Fried Chicken always seemed to be a little "better" than Burger King and MacDonalds.

Then u had shit like Jack In the Box and Arthur Treachers who didnt really have the same 'exposure' as bigger spots. Nathans, Hardee's, Wendy's,Hardee's ,and White Castle - to me werent on the super level.

Remember that chicken head story from years ago where a woman found a battered and fried chickenhead in her box of fried chicken wings?
Don't know if it was true but I would never eat at that place anyway.

Their slogan "We know what to do with chicken" sort of disgusts me.
