Nice to see a song's style reflect the subject matter though I seem to recall that The Wayne has been previously outed as a fan of that modern day rat pack Westlife The Stereophonics.
Fabio Capello has taken the unprecedented step of inviting David Beckham to travel with the England squad to the World Cup finals this summer and stay with the team as a non-playing member of the party during the tournament in South Africa.
Yep, doubtless there is nowt in our former colony across the pond that has not been done before in our neck of the woods.
Indeed, it seems that the separation of Church and State idea that our former citizens are so fond of was actually instituted in the colony by the royal decree of ye olde English king; apparently in order to entice the jewish fraternity in south America who were facing some hard persecution at the hands of those dastardly spanish and potuguese.
Hooray for us again!
And if one may be so bold, 'tis time to formally plant the flag
We start the thread and then the Brits come, take it over and claim it as their own.
Next thing you know they'll claim they "discovered" our thread and took it to the next level because the Yanks didn't really appreciate it.
Then they will duplicate this thread and claim it's better than the original.
(Please to read this while imagining fast paced Benny Hill musical accompaniment.)
BTW....I'm still waiting for my official Brit papers to arrive in the mail.... I'll need these when approaching Juke Box Dealers and Radio Stations so I can take their unwanted funk and soul records off their hands for a nominal fee. I've been practicing my accent and these dumb Yanks will do just about anything when you hit tham with a "G'Day Mate, I'm From England"......(Yes, I know that's an Aussie thing, that's the joke).
Reminded of the foolish ingenuity of Gotham's residents, Washington Irving gave the name "Gotham" to New York City in his Salmagundi Papers (1807). In turn, Bob Kane named the pastiche New York City home of Batman Gotham City. The existence of Gotham, Nottinghamshire in the DC Universe was recently acknowledged in Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #206 (and again in 52 #27), although the connection between two names within the DCU has not been fully explained.
