the only album i ever bought on the first day...and it didnt disappoint...tight ass rhythm section, morello's progressive solos, and the right mix of hip hop and punk,

  • Not necessarily my favorite, favorite, but a very overlooked masterpiece. Always a stepson to DSOTM, WYWH & The Wall & considered too dark by many. "Dogs" foreshadowed the yuppies, "Pigs" portrayed the politicians and "Sheep"
described... well, the sheep that let the system fuck 'em. A regular Orwellian mind trip. Dope ass cover as well.

The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by.
With bright knives he releaseth my soul.
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places.
He converteth me to lamb cutlets,
For lo, he hath great power, and great hunger.
When cometh the day we lowly ones,
Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
    Master the art of karate,
    Lo, we shall rise up,
And then we???ll make the bugger???s eyes water.

Bonus Beat: The 8 track only release of Pigs on the Wing with Snowy White on the solo.

So glad to see that Zep I is so wildly repped. I have always thought this was their best effort. Some other likes:

Super slept on group. Production on Magic Man is insane

Along with the minutemen joint, this is one of the most entertaining album ever... Ironic, great skills and some of the best arrangments/ production in a rock album....to me a forgotten classic that most of the shitty rock critics ignored when it originally came out

So am I the only one who tried to run with the "rock" joke? Everybody is getting serious in here.

Great mid 70's (recorded in 74-75 and released in 77) heavy hard private press rock LP from somewhere in Michigan. I'm pretty sure someone's reissued it.
