I guess it comes since being a kid. My family was in the DJ music biz since the early 70's. Including a well known DJ Mag in the 80's early 90's called StreetSound. Which for a time had a great Brit soul section. I've probably been to the UK 40-50 times in my life and lived there for a bit in the 90's working for Uptown Records in Soho. I saw a set by Norman Jay in the late 80's where he dropped mostly brit soul/funk/jazz locked me down to the sound.
