There were plenty in the 40s. Of course I can't name a single one.

This morning you said it was not safe for him to leave.

My mom says that when she saw it first run in the theater people stood and sang along.

    Perhaps my favorite movie.

  • "Stalin Wasn't Stalling" - Robert Wyatt covered it on a 45 in the '80's (also on collections of his Rough Trade stuff).

Problem is, it's pro-Stalin. Oh well.

  • Leonard Cohen - The Partisan (which I believe is a cover of an actual WW2 era song recorded by a number of French singers)

There's loads of punk rock ones, just perusing my iTunes quickly:

    Antidote - Anti Nazi Youth
    Aus-Rotten - F*ck Nazi Sympathy
Crude SS - Nazi Go Home
    Doom - Nazi Die
    Infest - Nazi Killer

I also found this on Amazon

This poem has been set to music and sung by Pete Seeger type folkies, but I can't find any sung versions on the tube.
There are lots of short films inspired by the poem.

Again my mom; she was recently working to overturn the conviction of a local man who was mistaken as an illegal immigrant, arrested, and held until he agreed to plead guilty to resisting arrest.
When asked why she cared by a sheriff's employee she quoted the poem.

Josh White & The Golden Gate Quartet both have more WWII songs, but I can't find them on youtube.

Josh White's Free and Equal Blues is a great song that speaks to the belief that now that Blacks helped over throw Hitler and save the country, and the army has been integrated, inequality will end.
Which is also echoed in the GGQ song above.
A common belief at the time.
And a common belief now after the recent election.

  • To a Sour Kraut
(Felix wrote this song when he was in the army, and sang it in episode 78, "The Songwriter")

Let's hit Hitler where he lives
    America never forgives
    Let's force him to surrender
    In incendiary splendor
Let's hit Hitler where he lives
