Well, both of her Perception albums seemed kinda dreary, subject-wise.
As far as aesthetically...maybe its' just me, but I like my poets to be musical and in time with the beat, like Gil Scott-Heron. When they're just straight TALKING with no rhythmic cadence (like Robinson), and there's music in the background, it's kinda unnerving, like the person sitting behind you at the show who keeps yakking while you're trying to hear the band play.
