font class="post"1b, 21b, 21I always took his Batman fight scenes as "chaotic/realistic" vs the heavily choreographed Kung Fu movie steez.b, 21b, 21Even w/ the bullshit Ninja influences he used in Begins,I thought the style was right for the shit he was doin for Batman.b, 21b, 21The whole drop into a room and dudes all take their time to attack one at a time is not what Batman needs IMO. b, 21b, 21In The Dark Knight during the party where Batman confronts the Joker was fine to me. And the "kidnap" of the Chinese Ceo/Mobster was done w/ Batman's stealth style. Quick edits, no extra breakbone flourishes, and efficiant fighting.b, 21b, 21apologist.... img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/463.gif" alt="" 21

Tony Jaa's movies are usually a complete farce plot and dialogue-wise but dude knows how to put together good fight scenes. font class="post"1b, 21b, 21If we're talking Jet Li's oeuvre, then I'd suggest "Fist of Legend" which is a far less melodramatic than "Fearless" (even though both actually follow the same folklore and characters). I found the latter a soggy mess of schmatlz whereas "Fist of Legend" was - apart from excellent fight scenes - genuinely humorous. b, 21b, 21This is to say nothing of the "Once Upon a Time In China" series but I still find "Fist of Legend" to be the better intro movie for beginners who have no idea who Wong Fei Hong is.

  • I'm talking about that Shaolin vs wutang!!

I loved Fearless. I don't know what it was that got me so amped about it, but I saw it in the theater, watched the DVD a million times. I have the TV series but haven't checked it out yet. My favorite Jet Li film is Shaolin Temple because of the mainland vibe. I lend that to people who don't know li outside of his american films.

I have a real soft spot for the Fong Sai Yuk films though - some of the funniest martial arts I've ever seen.
