Anyway I found his book very illuminating. It is basically an extended review of obama's autobiography "dreams of my father" and the way it details obama's stretching of the truth in the original memoir and the presidential campaign incarnation of obama's numerous contradictions of the Obama in "dreams of my father" gave me a much better handle on Obama than anything else i've read on the man. I really recommend people dl this shit.b, 21b, 21 b, 21b, 21h, 21

I find it so oxymoronic how the extreme right spews rhetoric regarding "family values," "religious principles," and "country first," yet they are behaving horribly in response to Obama's election win. I see Obama's win as a true example of American democracy in that the country looked past his skin color to elect the person they saw as most qualified. Shouldn't any American citizen (who is qualified), irrespective of race, gender, etc., have the right to be President? I'm appalled at the reports I've read and find it interesting that these extreme "right-wing" individuals can't accept the election results with dignity and class. We've had centuries of White Presidents of the U.S. and minorities didn't react by committing hate crimes against White folks. Such irony that the "moral right" is acting so immoral. I guess hypocrisy is a right-wing value too.b, 21b, 21Peace,b, 21b, 21Big Stacks from Kakalak

The folks I have spoken to personally and even the majority of Conservative Talk Radio hosts have taken the stance of "He's our President and we need to support him"....or the less supportive "Let's give him a chance" which is still pretty positive.

I haven't read that. Do you have any source? I'm with Rock. Many Republicans are worried about the policies Obama will pursue, but wish him the best and for now are willing to wait and see. I think many whites on the left need to believe that there is this troglodyte fringe on the right, a monster they can look under their beds for, a bloody shirt to wave. The Republican party, historically, has been the party opposed to white supremacy. Republicans opposed the Voting Rights Act and have paid a price for years. But historically, the party of Jim Crow and slavery was the Democrats. I think when Trent Lott was bounced out of the Senate Majority leader slot in 2002, when the Republicans ran the government, it was the end of Republican tolerance for racism at the national level. I have no doubt that there are haters who commit crimes. But these people are no more Republican or conservative as your neighborhood anarchist shattering a starbucks window front are democrats. It is a retarded fringe.
