Anyway I found his book very illuminating. It is basically an extended review of obama's autobiography "dreams of my father" and the way it details obama's stretching of the truth in the original memoir and the presidential campaign incarnation of obama's numerous contradictions of the Obama in "dreams of my father" gave me a much better handle on Obama than anything else i've read on the man. Yet the GOP would have you believe that these institutions are the root of all evil in our society. If you're looking for hypocrisy in biography turn over a few of your own stones you'll be astonished what you find.

I actually read most of the book just now. The entire book is about Obama's race. Sailor posits that Obama's genetic father, who pretty much walked out on him as a toddler, is an important--genetic--influence on the son. At the end of the book, bemoaning the demographic retreat of pure-blood whites, Sailor says: "We are essentially outsourcing our duty of choosing the next citizens to recent immigrants." He says he wishes to dispel what he considers a widespread assumption about Obama voters, whom he says supported him because this "half blood prince" was "born and bred to resolve our racial disputes." Does any Obama voter here believe that Obama is genetically programmed to resolve racial tensions? That may not be racist, it's just retarded. b, 21b, 21I'm not trying to censor you here. You can be free to disagree. But it's clear that Sailor is obsessed with race. Most Americans today are in favor of what racists call miscegenation. I don't think the geographic origin or race of one's parents is predictive of the aptitude or personality of the progeny. I don't believe in the genetic significance of race period. The fact that Obama is half Kenyan is irrelevant as to whether he has the qualities to lead the nation. Yet Obama's Kenyan-ness is the entire subject of Sailor's book, which is really just an extended review of Obama's memoirs, with an obsession on Obama's relationship to Africa. That could be actually an interesting book. But this is just using the topic of Obama to make a statement against immigration and diversity. I'm a conservative but I favor the free movement of people. I also have little tolerance for the scape-goating of people, the anti-amnesty crowd call "illegals." I am two generations removed from the Ukrainian shtetl. I am in solidarity with the Mexican bus boy waiting for a green card. I want their kids to get the same chances my parents had. Son, this is exactly how Obama sold himself to the american public. How often did we hear the phrase "post-racial candidate" in election coverage? If you are truly dubious about whether there were people who treated this election as a referendum on the virtue and enlightenment of american society then you only need look at the threads that were posted here after the result. Thread after thread of teary eyed ramblings about what this supposedly said about america.b, 21b, 21- Sailer depicts Obama fathers main influence on him as one of a myth created by Obama's moms. Its just not true that he spends any great length of the book talking about barrack snr as a 'genetic influence'(although of course the genes one receives from their father are a huge influence. Its odd, and telling, that you would consider such a truism controversial enough to attempt to tar sailers book with it)b, 21b, 21- Sailer's statement that "We are essentially outsourcing our duty of choosing the next citizens to recent immigrants." is a reference to how a family reunification policy all but destroys a nation's ability to control immigration.
