I'm finally going to Brazil on Saturday!

Yup... I'm making the trip all by myself. 1 week in Sao Paulo and 1 week in Rio. Any reccomendations on places to go or things to do or even contacts would be greatly appreciated as I'm basically just winging it. There will be plenty of digging, but I don't want it to be the focus of the trip.     All the good records are at Moogman's crib! Maybe the highest density of heat I've ever seen in a studio apartment.b, 21Have a great time. You can't just go to Brazil once. I've been down there three times now. You've been warned. b, 21Drink lots of fruit juice, eat the steaks, have some pao de queso, see some live samba, go to a football match, smoke a joint on Ipanema and watch the thongs go by, go to the flea markets, buy records, have fun.

    teh food is cheap and good; the ladies are insane; the architecture is dope (Niemeyer say word); just an ill country all around.

    On my very first day in Rio a few years back I decided to buy the local paper even though I didn't really read Portuguese. I was glad I did because I found out that Jorge Ben was playing in Lapa (cool Rio neighborhood) that very night. A few hours later I was at one of the best shows music-wise and ambiance-wise that I've ever been to in my entire life. The party scene before, during and after Brazilian concerts has to be seen to be believed. b, 21See who's playing in town either before you get there or once you arrive.     no such thing as dollar bins in Brasil..records are expensive!!I'd suggest bringing some stuff to trade..that always works for me..Also if you like dope reggae parties,check out a spot called "Hole" on fridaY night with DJ Yellow P..It's on Rua Augusta near avenida Paulista..I'm sure you'll have a blast,can't wait to get back there..peace-P
