Waaaaay better than Amplified though. Props to the Abstract for taking it somewhere else and IMHO still sounding good.

    Once upon a time, just after TCQ first album had dropped, I got a call from an Ameriman with a slightly child-like voice saying he was Cutie and asking for recommendations for record shops in Bristol, as he'd just arrived there.b,121b,121I said I hadn't a clue, goodbye, nice talking, phone down.b,121b,121Couple of days later I was speaking to my Cali dudes, who said they hoped I didn't mind but they'd given Q-Tip my number as he would shortly be in the UK and would want to hit some spots.b,121b,121Hey sorry bout that Q-Tip guy. Your first LP is one of only 2 hip hop records I own, so let that be your consolation.

    I had been meaning to post about this; glad other folks are checking/feeling the album. This album exceeded my expectations and I don't mean that as faint praise. There's a lot about this which feels Tribe-esque and I think will please fans. There's also a few examples of Kamaaltheabstract noodling but on the whole, I thought most of the songs were solid.     "Grown Ass Man Rap" is an apt characterization for better of worse. Norah Jones song is surprisingly good. Thankfully, Q-tip keeps the singing to a minimum, only doing so on a couple of hooks.

    whats wrong with a 2k?b,121b,121And at the time that amplified dropped i just never got around to buying it, that was foolish i agree.b,121I'll cop it soon though, ive got a whole list of stuff i missed. Im slowly getting back into hiphop, after totally giving up on it for at least 6 years.

    i don't like the first two songs (jay-dee and swizz beats) but will give it a chance.b,121b,121he was def unimpressive during that dj premier freestyle session on the bet awards. possibly spending more time modeling/djiing than composing new raps.
