  • Damn..

German records is a big part of my want list, so many good stuffs in the other side of the Rhin river!
I must admit I'm mostly after all that fusion/brazilian/scat/gl??clich-comp stuff you seems to don't like Grope!
By the way for those of you who like that sound there's a friendly dude who got some super german heat on his website shop: www.whatiswrongwithgrooving.com
He also put his want list so trades are OK too

Here's some in-demand german stuff and not mentionned yet:
The two Catch Up LPs by Max Greger, great personnel, incredibly funky jazz
DAUNER WOLFGANG The Oimels Superb brazilian tune on this one
The JAZZ MEETS WORLD serie on Saba. Deep spiritual jazz and collab. between euro jazz cats and folkloric musicians.
The two african R'n'B MOMBASA LPs Afro funky jazz!
PSYCHEDELIC DANCE PARTY Easy lounge porn sound with sitar holy grail
RUSCH ARMIN Beat Fur Verliebte (Beats For Lovers) HUGE open drumbreak
THE VAMPIRES OF DARTMOOR Dracula's Music Cabinet - (Metronome) Strange no one mentionned this one yet!
XIMO & JUDY LP Superb brazil vocal jazz
CERTAIN LIONS AND TIGERS LP With the orchestral funk cover of El Condor Pasa "SOUL CONDOR", deep jazz version of Fever too..

The two Catch Up LPs by Max Greger - used to own both records. cool stuff, but not worth the dollars, me thinks. still very good and obscure music. first one is much better than the first.

DAUNER WOLFGANG The Oimels - one of my alltime favorites - best German Jazz eva!!!
The JAZZ MEETS WORLD - love it, but never found any

The two african R'n'B MOMBASA LPs - i only liked three or four tracks, rare and good!!!

PSYCHEDELIC DANCE PARTY - Siggi Schwab and H??bner - LP is called Sexedelic or Psychedelic ance Party

RUSCH ARMIN Beat Fur Verliebte (Beats For Lovers) - i didn't like the record. only the break is cool

THE VAMPIRES OF DARTMOOR Dracula's Music Cabinet - (Metronome) - got it!

XIMO & JUDY LP Superb brazil vocal jazz - don't know it! need to find out about it!

CERTAIN LIONS AND TIGERS LP - you should try to find Herbolzheimer'S Quality LP on Acanta - same songs - different cover - much cheaper

I'm looking for Release Music Orchestra "Get the Ball" but I'm not about to drop ??50 as I've seen it for some times. More like ??20 or ??30 tops.

I already got "News" and "Beyond the Limit" which has a few cool bits but are probably too late. I'm mainly into them because of the beats. Straight fusion is usually not my thing.

    these two are also nice
    To Be- Same (Brain)
    Florian Poser - Lifeline (Pl??ne)

and what about the "Beat for Lovers" aka "Beat f??r verliebte" which came in two versions. Are there any difference on them?

one pressing is on REX, the other one a UK or a German label, I believe. No difference in the song titles...

To Be is nice, but it's quite common over here. Never picked it up. Is it that good?
Florian Poser is for drum break lovers only. The music on there is mediocre. But the record is quite rare. Never seen seen it myself.

  • Grope, any top recommendation yourself for funky/brazilian/jazz or jazzfunk/rhodes-or-electricpiano action from Germany?

I've got a reissue of the Doldinger's Motherhood LP. got it in Sheboygan Wisconson at the salvation army. it's a press from 82 in "Das Deutsche Rock-Archiv" series.

    it's in my trade pile.

I like Dauner's Oimels. It fits into funky/brazilian/jazz. i don't know much about German records with a brazilian touch, but Heinz von Moisy has a wonderful record called Irisation / Las Plantas. Not funky, but some brazilian feel to it. I love it. Very chill. Also: Kitty Winter!

jazzfunk/rhodes/electric piano: check out Selected Sound #40 by Rolf Kuehn - a friend of mine just bought a copy for 20 Euros on eBay after I gave him a listen over the phone. It's nice. One of my favorites with vibes/Rhodes: Lauth Quartet - Wolfgang + 2. It's on an Italian label though. Another cheap one that comes to my mind right now: Power By Nature - Four For Jazz. More on the Fusion edge though.
Or check out the Modern Soul Band or Klaus Lenz LPs on Amiga (Muza). More Jazz than Funk, but I like the feeling of their records. Dieter Reith has a nice one called "Hammond Explosion". Any MPS record with Fender or organ. Helmuth Bradenburg has Moog/Arp records out.
To be honest: I don't know much about German electric piano action. I like e-piano as well, but I'm not sure that there are many German record fitting into that category. Some budget label pressings. Check out Tony Lee's electric piano LPs. He's from the UK. Very nice.

yes, florian poser is crap music, but nice with all the breaks.

Isn't this also kind of German? recorded in Germany with some german musicians. The one on the left is the German Issue on Nova with an extra bonus intrumental record and it contains the track "Title Wave" not on the US issue.

  • Asiko i had 3 times, goes for $ 400+.....

  • Nice one, would be open to trade it....

  • Sue Kramer performed the sought after " weisser sand " on a soundtrack called TRIP , released on Telefunken , a production of the ORF ( Austrian TV Radio Station), a live set, rare stuff!!

They called it a Rock opera. Su Kramer has more records. I saw some while digging with Cosmophonic. Must buy those Hair cover versions rare and other 70s LPs featuring her. She's got a great voice and the lyrics on Weisser Sand are DEEP!

i tried to cantact you many times. You never replied. And I still don't have copies of that record myself. I want it badly too, but I guess the situation is kinda messed up since the original finder knows about our number one want. He saw you posting about the secret squirrel rare on here. I can't pay what he is asking for! I hope you understand. I could hook you up though.

Send me a wants list of German records you are looking for. I got another crazy German drum record for you. Maybe even rarer and obscure than that the record we talked about . Please PM me. My old email-address doesn't work. I got a new one.
