I'm curious what the strut concensus is on Library LP's these days. I know there are mad braeques and what not for beats, but how many of you are putting on a DeWolfe LP and chilling out?b,121b,121The only one I've kept is that Afrorock vecchio LP, and I can't say that I've listened to that in the last 5 years.b,121b,121Thoughts?

i owned one library record in my life. some Conroy LP. one song was dope. the rest was ehhhh.

  • I listened to my KPM afrorock the other day and I say it was a nice listen...that said, however, it is the only library I have sat through more than once and enjoyed every track. I do have some with a couple hot tracks that are fine for listening, but I dont go outta my way to find them anymore after turning up terd after terd.

I bought one at ARC and now don't realize why I did. It's just a really basic open breakbeat for 3 minutes.b,121b,121There is only one Library record that I really want.

  • I'm just saying, most of the folks who collect libraries these days reside over there.

I have a DeWolfe reggae library that is surprisingly good. I think it is one of only 3 that I own though, and the others are just around for the drums.

font class="post"1b,121b,121b,121Alchemist might have to take issue with that statement. b,121b,121b,121For real though, I happen to like beats with "mad drama loops," but I will admit that that whole vibe is pretty passe. Kinda like "jazz beatz." Shit is over like them leather front pullovers.

I just bought a couple of library records, mostly because they had killer modal cuts. Sure, they only hve one or two listenable tracks, but so do many LPs. b,121b,121Do I collect them? Only to the extent that I like to collect cool music. I'm not searching out entire catalogues.

  • img src="http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc349/steadymurphy/4729564216.jpg"1 this one is really dopeb,121b,121but do u guys consider the raer soundtracks librarys as well??

font class="post"1b,121b,121b,121There are plenty of library lps out there with much better music than that release, although I can't say I'm a huge fan of the MRR-ADM record anyway. To me it sounded a lot like the jam sessions my friends and I used to have. But the hype seem to propel it into something more, the mere fact that Catto only appears on one track, yet it is still referred to as the "Catto 10", seems proof of this.
