font class="post"1Most of the apps for the default installation of OSX are built for borderline luddites.

font class="post"1b,121b,121b,121I guess that was sort of my point too. Both have very obvious areas of strength, which is why the divisive commercials bother me. b,121b,121h,121font class="post"1b,121b,121Only obama can end the polarization in the computer industry that is tearing this country apart.b,121b,121BELIEVE

As a life long PC dude, my imac 24" knocks my socks off everytime I use it. Steve Jobs > Bill Gates, at least when it comes to making rock solid products that are sexy and functional. This computer is built like a tank and operates like an imperial star destroyer. Sure there have been hard drive failures and other problems with Macs, but back in the day I bet if my parents started off with Macs there would have been a lot less hair loss each time my mom crashed the home PC when she downloaded a virus from some email forward. b,121b,121Like Quo I've used both but I prefer driving a Cadillac while I poast, run listings, or whatever. Throw some 24"s on 'em. b,121b,121My assistants use my old PC and it gets the job done, too.

font class="post"1b,121b,121Spoken like someone that has no idea what they're talking about.b,121b,121Windows = Proprietary (popular != open)b,121Mac = Far less Proprietary (free BSD underpinnings)b,121Linux = Only true open OSb,121b,121And yes, you can upgrade a Mac as cheaply as a PC, as they are technically PC's now. That's 80's/90's talk.

font class="post"1b,121b,121no. I don't see "ease of use" as any less a personal preference issue than "look" or whatever. b,121b,121I do not find macs to be INHERENTLY any easier to use than PCs. at all. (and I'm not sure it's really possible to measure that metric).b,121b,121it's all about what you're used to. b,121b,121h,121font class="post"1b,121b,121it's measured by things like:b,121b,121number of clicks to do taskb,121time to do task

font class="post"1b,121b,121Zero. b,121b,121My machines are always up to date, behind a nat router & firewall, and I run daily scans just to be sure. b,121b,121Since I take care of all the PCs in my family (and a few of my in-laws) the grand total of virus and trojans I have encountered on 9 PCs in the last three years, 1.b,121b,121That single instance was user error. Said party downloaded a program from an 3rd party and installed the thing themselves. Not much you can do to prevent an ID10T errors.b,121b,121As a bookkeeper, graphic designer, and the dozen other tech hats I wear I have used both Macs and PCs. They are not cars, they are tools and you use the right tool for the right job.b,121b,121ul type="square"1* Bookkeeping/Accounting/Point of Sale - PC, hands down... Mac's NAGL.b,121* Graphic Design - Was Mac, now pretty much even. Depends on preference.b,121* Video - Mac still has the advantage, but it's dwindling.b,121* Music - Mac, but PC have improved, a lot.b,121* Gaming - Get real, PC only. If you own a Mac just buy a console.b,121* Printing - Mostly Mac by legacy, but I work at a mixed PC & Mac shop.b,121* CAD/CAM - PC only. My dentist can mill a crown in half and hour and put it in during a single visit. Love the German engineering.b,121* Porn downloads - User choice./ul1b,121b,121Now if you are talking ease of use and rockin' design, Macs win hands down. There are some cool PC builds but usually they are custom jobs, the workhorse PCs still look like Stalinist sculpture for the most part.b,121b,121As for Vista, nerd please! I wouldn't let it near my box if you paid me. It is the picture next to the definition of bloatware. Second on the list is 64bit XP, like the memory capacity but some programs just don't work on it. They can pry XP Pro from my cold dead fingers...b,121b,121img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/GetOnMyComp_gm.jpg" alt="" 21 b,121b,121h,121font class="post"1b,121 XP prob,121There's a significant amount of bloat in any legit xp build. Black XP is XP without the OS bloat and optimized for faster connectivity (but with plenty of added software bloat, which is easily removed)b,121b,121I dunno man, your whole argument is like dead since I can run all those "great" pc apps natively on my mac.

Otherwise, I stay on the Mac side.
