the BLACK MERDA isn't as great as i'd hoped - but "cynthy-ruth" is well worth the price of the LP - killer tune.
Cynthy Ruth is superb but no love for tunes like The Prophet and, a personal favourite, Good Luck? Would recommend giving it a good few listens.
yeah -- it's had another few spins and i've definately enjoyed it. for some reason i was expecting a few more tunes i could play out .... so the first listen was slightly dissapointing because of that.
Keepers from the last two weeks (all field finds except for the Phase One comp):
The Greensleeves 12" is Pablo Gad - "Fly Away Home." The King Tubby is a THICK Jamaican pressing from the 90's that sounds pretty damn good.
The Stranglers LP came with the bonus "Walk on By" 7"
Top left LP is Chirino - "Chirino 3" (Grand Artists) a Puerto Rican disco record with two ridiculously good tracks. Top right is Elegua S/T a really cool 1978 Latin Jazz private press four track EP from Boston.

but no hate from me for this LP.
Yes sir I do.
The cover of "A Song For You" and "My Song" are my favorite tracks.
