about 60% and climbing, other dj's switching to microwave has made it possible to buy things that i have been after for years that never used to come up and for the most part way under what i would have once paid for them.
10% and dropping. I'm stuck in the so-called "Golden Era." I do pick up an occasional 12", such as Rich Boy "Throw Some Ds" or UGK "Player's Anthem." Those are recent purchases that come to mind, anyway.
in high school, about four years ago, i was well into underground hip-hop. 75% of the music i listened to was probably hip-hop, until i heard electric jazz/spiritual jazz. i've substituted hip-hop for 70s disco and boogie music to get that easy going, feel good, funky head knockers.

although about 25% of that is being stored at my grandparent's house in Cali. need to sell off a bunch of those when i get back.
now and days it's 20% of the 1900 records I own.
Microwave has cut down on the need to buy semi-disposable "club shit" and focus on more essential 12s and LPs.
15% cds/mps

good topic btw
actually higher in terms of physical media ...
like 85% of my CDs
and about 65% of my digital shit
and about 87% of personally created shit
counting tapes, cds, records and mp3s.
cds = 70%
vinyl = 50%
Another good question would be what percentage of your non hip hop records were purchased directly because of hip hop (samples, drums, etc.)
