  • Come on, we all know that reggaeton and banghra are all really just one song repeated over and over again, does that really count as a genre?

    GTFOOHWTBS!

it's the same thing a lot of parents of the older generation said about hip hop. "all sounds like a bunch of angry noise to me". and to them it probably did. you probably don't speak the language, or understand the context, or aren't open to expanding your mind and hearing how people with a different background than you might make music and have a good time.

and this has to do with why a lot of people do like MIA too. she clearly has an ear on what people from all over the world are doing to make party music. Brazil, Caribbean, Asia, US, UK... and she's trying to connect the dots musically. it probably won't sound good to you if you're not trying to do the same in some way.

Hey now - you've never seen Edith get tore up at the clurb on Seagrams and soda. She starts poppin' mad shit, threatening people with a razor, shit is wild.

Yo, I was poking fun at the people in this thread, because i know they hate on these new genres/styles. Me, I am down with reggaeton and banghra and anything else that gets people danicing/having fun.

and the fact that it took 2 pages for anyone to disagree with that statement proves my point.
