Is that a genuine liquid crystal display, or a bootleg?
If he got that under 10 dollars, then def a bootleg.
This is what I wear. It was a gift from my wife when we got engaged.
but here is a watch related article that seems to have ignited some debate within the auction house over the last couple months.

I'm rocking this one, everytime I come around your city bling bling:
Lorenzos on Yokohama tires, bling bling
My cell works just fine!
Too big, too ostentatious, and then not ostentatious enough.
Something like this is where it's at:
thanks for sharing (I think it's time for a "Thanks for sharing" graemlin), but this is a Fine Watches thread, we don't need your comment here. You must be the kind of person that starts "I'm quitting record collecting" threads in record forums.
$2500
I've never worn a watch and am known to be very punctual.
Earlier this year my boss presented me with a very nice(and expensive) watch as a reward for completing a project.
Not wanting to insult him I put it on.
Later on that afternoon I was late for a meeting.
I haven't worn it since.
I'm adding this one to the everyday watches collection:
Swatch Free Chain
Would love to own a Rolex Daytona though.
HAHAHAHAHA!
ID WEAR IT JUST TO BE AN ASSHOLE

I don't wear watches much these days and have no interest in the high-end models but I would be down to drop a few hunnid for this:
It's an Omega Dynamic Geneve from the '70s.
I used to be the same way when I was younger. I didn't like the feel of a watch at all and never wore them. Then when I was about 25 or 26 my uncle got me a watch for Christmas. When I got it I wasn't overly thrilled since I didn't wear watches but just for kicks I started wearing it occasionally and actually started liking having it around. To your point about the cell phone, I got my watch back before I had a cell phone so having a watch really came in handy. Now I'm to the point that I feel out of synch if I don't have my watch on, even though I have a cellphone and honestly will usually reach for that to check the time.
As far as my own watches, I have like 5 or 6 now. I don't have the $$$ to really have any serious pieces, but when (if) I ever have money I'll definitely be buying a few nice watches. So far I just buy Fossil watches which aren't luxury or anything, but your average dude thinks spending $15 on a watch is more than enough, so even my $50 Fossil watches are nicer than most people have.
