When I was college in what some may believe is the only town in Texas, I was out late flyering on Guadalupe Street. I was talking to my man Josh who used to work the 9p to 4a shift at Einstein's Arcade. It was a really bad job--one of two or three he held down in a state of perpetual poverty. So I'd stop by when I was out flyering and shoot the shit with him, bring his broke ass something to eat, etc.
We're on the sidewalk talking and this guy comes up giving us the I'M DEAF GIVE ME HANDOUTS schtick. He has a little card printed up and he's working it, but he's not being very convincing.
As he walks off empty-handed, I say to Josh, "Watch this." I reach over to the goofy little horn on my bike's handlebars (shit is real in da skreets, gawd) and give it a squeak.
Dude turns around.
