This is actually pretty dope dude. I like it. Yknow what, I need to start learning how to record with my mixing board. Wanta do some internet collabo type thing? I got my guitar, my sm57's and my helix board all setup, and yes I can play guitar.

i could see some distorted vibraphone as in stark reality fit very good in there.
is it even a vibraphone they used?

You certainly have a nice grasp on those snare ghost notes. That's one of my major weak points I need to keep working on. I think I remember you saying some time ago that you didn't learn reading any books or practicing rudiments whatsoever; that's quite impressive. Are you strictly into funk drumming or do you mess around with other styles, as well?

let me start by saying something fairly unrelated to clear my name here: the drums were recorded to a very wobbly tape machine, then recorded back onto it again when i did the final mixdown. any unsettling speed-ups or slow-downs in tempo can be blamed 100% on the inconsistency of a worn-out tape machine.

yep, completely self-taught just by listening. i was only playing drums twice a week at the MOST for a while, but now that winter has settled in and my drums arent constantly in my trunk, im practicing pretty regularly now. i have no real practice plan, i just play because it feels good...but if i hear something on a record that i cant do, i'll focus on figuring that out for a little bit.

funk is the most fun and natural style for me, so i focus on that, but i do dabble in other styles too. i just love drumming.

occasionally i'll become part of a band or something that isnt really my style, and requires me to learn something new or start playing in a different style.. its a real help because it basically forces you to explore something you normally wouldnt just start practicing, or maybe you werent even aware of in the first place.

my weakness? i can barely do triplets...not fast anyway. then again ive never devoted more than like 2 seconds to learning them, and i probably do them "wrong" just like lots of the other stuff ive learned by ear.
