L to R: DJ Muro, Big Chan, Eddie Hazel OG. Diggin' in Seattle 2003.
But yo Chan, it's all about that California Dreaming on full blotter reverb, baby. Shherious shhtufff there, meynge.
but anyway, Eddie HAzel is awesome
I've moved on to this under-rated slab:
You and the rest of this board. LOL. I'm Irish and Scandinavian.
HOLLA!
"Entering records into the database" listening selections for the evening:
Colin Blunstone: ENNISMORE
Saint Vitus: HALLOW'S VICTIM
Symbolic Three: "No Show"
Devo: "Peek-A-Boo" (dance mix)
Blondie: "Live It Up" (dance mix)
Sinnamon: "Thanks To You"
I'm just an accepted eclectic. Or a sexual intellectual. Take your pick.
How is his solo stuff? Is this the one to check for?
I have some early Argent stuff that I really like, but never checked out the Blunstone.
Tommy Guerrero- Soul Food Taqueria (perfect when i'm on the laptop. i really appreciate shit like this when i'm doing errands or something. nawmean?)
ENNISMORE is decent - kinda like a more commercial Nick Drake crossed with George Harrison. But Blunstone's ONE YEAR is better IMO with real lush orchestration and some heart-wrenching songs like "Caroline Goodbye." Rod Argent has a big presence on both albums and Colin's voice is really amazing. If you like ODYSSEY AND ORACLE and Nick Drake, you'll probably dig Blunstone's solo records.
Thanks. They're always in the Zombies sections (instead of Zombies records!), and I never knew if/where to start with his stuff.
I bought this on the day of my accident two weeks ago, but didn't bother taking a listen until today. I expected some kind of Whitesnake/Boston hybrid, but that's not the case, more like Little River Band meets Saga. Heat? If you rub your hands real fast, you may catch some on side 2.
Also Jean Shy and some Lovelites 45's
Doesn't that kind of combination create some sort of Worst Music Ever Made rift in the space/time continuum? Pasco, hold on.
