dude's trying to get on stuff here and there - at a mad reduced rate apparently. not only does he have to worry about penderass - but Akon and, who knows, maybe even Robin Thicke at this point.

On another west coast note - what the hell ever happened to

DAMMIT. Well it's a picture of Sir Jinx. What the hell ever happened to Sir Jinx?

the Akon of the 90's. I miss Nate Dog.

One is a pop star and the other a Westcoast legend.

I mean the ubiquitous hooks for like 10 straight years. but yeah there's no way Akon is fucking with the Dogg.

Well, you can't be the voice on every hit song foreverrrr

That and the kids probably didn't wanna sing along to the same dude their parents did.

i guess that's kind of correct. but i would accept this reasoning more if nate had made a bunch of bad artistic or business choices before his (relative) disappearance. a lot of artists who were successful as long as nate was have made some terrible songs or bad albums but stayed on top. nate avoided that. and moreover, he was never the type of artist who stuck his neck out, he was kind of like the supporting actor that stole the show.

maybe he was going through some personal shit or made an intentional choice to take a rest from the game. or maybe not. dude made a point, that snoop track "crazy" was a real nice summer jam. "when i aint around" too

  • Since the topic of Nate Dogg is being discussed... What's a list of everybody's favorite songs featuring Nate Dogg? I've long toyed with the idea of throwing together a compilation with all my favorite songs featuring Nate Dogg. I mean, for almost all of the 90's and even some of the 2000's Nate Dogg was seemingly all over everything. Here's my list of favorites, just curious what others I don't have listed other people know of since I know there's gotta be songs he did that I'm not aware of or am just overlooking.

Warren G - Regulate (and most of the whole Warren G album I guess)
    Tupac - All About U
Thug Life - How Long Will They Mourn Me?
Snoop Dogg - Ain't No Fun (If The Homies Can't Have None)
Tha Dogg Pound - Big Pimpin'
Tha Dogg Pound - Let's Play House
Dr. Dre - The Next Episode
    Ludacris - Area Codes

Damn...there's gotta be more I'm not thinking of.

I liked it when he was in that Chris Rock movie, doing
the "Something About Mary"-style interludes ...

he feels bad (he feels bad)
    mighty low
    got nowhere to go
what can you do when your feeling low
and your car just got repo-ed?

The stuff he did with 213 was
    especially the advance, but:

    brown skin
    another summer
    fallin in love
    lonely girl(give it up)
    i'm fly
    sassy ways

"We'd also like to meet Michael McDonald, who really was the Nate Dogg of his time. He'd come in, sing one line of the chorus and the crappiest of songs became hits. "Shine sweet freedom, shine a light on me, you are the magic, you're right where I want to be." "
