This cover was selected as an alternate, when it was revealed that George "The Animal" Steele was a huge fan of Duane Allman, who sat in the Push Push[/b] sessions and wanted to sit in on these. On the DL, The Animal was a master of the nose and pan flutes, doing wicked solos that Zamfir was never able to do. There's a 42 minute jam session where The Animal plays only two notes for 15 minutes, and Allman got excited by that. Upon completion, Allman was quoted as saying "it felt like Coltrane, but in a hairy, green tongue way". These sessions remain unreleased. Since it was his label, Mann picked this alternate shot for select markets, in honor of someone he didn't think had an ear for music. It was only available in Guatemala, Laos, and Wapato, Washington.
The U.S. one came out first, and outside of having different covers, liner notes from Paul Morley were very different two, as was customary with the Zang Tuum Tumb empire. Exact album, with the exception of "Snapshot". The U.S. version fades, while the UK one ends cold.
Wow, speak of the devil. That's an odd synchronicity...
About an hour ago, I was in a record store asking the guy about the alternate cover... He had never seen it, I mentioned I just saw it on a japan auction. He looked it up, and he said it was a reissue...
I'm figuring it may be, because it appears to go cheaper than the photo cover... I'm diggin that second cover though.
Do you know the story of that record... if it's a reissue or not?

you forgot "...and parts unknown"
This is SoulStrut, it is known where all pressings go. Wapato is pretty unknown to most.
Found this on eBay, a pressing from Uruguay.

Yes, it's a few minutes outside of Yakima.
According to this site, it is a second issue, although it doesn't get too specific:
