It's LABTEKWON (underground rapper)i'm amazed over his evolution from indie backpack hip hop to b.e.t.'s uncut dirty south rapper.Nothing deeper to it than that.
Maggie Cheung in Olivier Assayas' "Irma Vep" - a very good movie.
She reminds me of Anna Mae Wong in that shot, although it may just be the B&W...I want an Anna Mae avatar!
Thanks...those are awesome, and at first I immediately changed the second one to my avatar...it looked kinda sad so small, though, so I dug up this one from Shanghai Express:
I always wanted to be a Baseball Fury and I always wanted a pet monkey, so how badass would it be to have a Monkey Fury? very badass, that's how much...and I have one in my avatar.

Anna Mae rules.
Shanghai Express is such a good example of how good female characters can be.
Those two were so good and subtle and light-handed in that film, but did and said everything they needed to.
Anna Mae Wong does rule - it's funny how she was written as every possible stereotype in movies, but somehow seemed to break/defy them once she acted them out...does that make sense?
It makes sense in that I understand what you mean, she really did transcend the racial restraints that the writers attempted to put on her characters, but I don't quite understand how she did it, and did it so well.
On Shanghai Express, I was lucky enough to see an entire Von Sternberg retrospective just last year...his films always seemed to stress powerful female characters, strong in both mind and self-awareness of the power of their sexuality - and his films are also always loaded with male characters ready to give away everything for an opportunity to "possess" a woman of that confidence.
?? Swan with bowie knife, switchblade, lead pipe and spray can ?? Cleon with nunchucks, rumble chain and spray can ?? Cochise with Molotov cocktail, wooden board with nails and a spray can ?? Baseball Fury with 2 baseball bats (one is broken) ?? Luther with handgun, broken bottle and alternate hand with bottles on fingers (from the famous end of movie scene).

This movie came up the other night. I was loaning my friend some DVD's and as I handed him El Topo, I told him he might not like it cause it relies heavily on symbolism, etc. and he told me "if I can sit through Irma Vep I'm sure I can watch this.".
