Yeah - I'm still keen to see as many peps as possible digging these things aout and playing them again... sick of seeing too much stuff head offshore - was at Groovy in AK about a month ago and a guy walks in with 3 suitcases full of mint 60s to late 70s jazz & soul... guy told me he'd had them imported direct from the US / Europe etc at the time. Managed to grab some bits off the counter then and there but learned from a RG employee that most of that sort of stock goes onto Ebay and is sold back to the States rather than going out into the store.
There's also a book store in the next suburb over (can't remember name) that has a back room of records - lots of shite but still a few finds in there.

Yeah, almost all the 'A' grade stuff that walks into Real Groovy gets ebayed, especially if it's Jazz. They usually get good $$ for it too. Just wish I could get to it first somehow.... Can't really knock the hustle though, I've ebayed a bunch of choice local stuff for coin over the years.
everything in the above, except for the upper corners are dupes, holler!
I've never heard that "Euphoria II" record but a local collector showed me his personal copy and was raving about it. Late 70s, Fusion/'spiritual' jazz funk out of the San Fernando Valley, right?
I recognize Marc Hannibal as an actor in a slew of crappy, short lived 70s TV shows and made-for-TV movies. What's the LP like?
Quincy Conserve - Alright In The City / Somebody Stole My Thunder
HMV pressing ?
mines from the NZBC library
Ah, the good ol' NZBC sticker, you know the late 50s/early 60s ones say NZBS, , there are even a bunch where the S has been scribbled out with pen & the C written in it's place. Yes, Hugh, I still have far too many 45s. How's Melbourne treating you bro?

things are good here, hope your soul 45s night goes down a treat !

I got 3 of those local Kings now, don't know if there are any more to get though. I think there may be a fourth, I need to ask around. The last 45 night was a bit lame, but that was more the venue's fault than ours, so hopefully this new spot will fix that.
Sounded pretty cool after a quick listen ... Is 'Infant Eyes' the one to check out here??
Much more of a jazz, pop-jazz feel than the title/artist would leave you to believe. First LP of his I've checked ... Has a great late-night vibe.
A long-time favourite gets the vinyl upgrade ... Missing some of the tracks from the CD version, but still plenty of classics ... 'Love and Happiness', 'Boomin' in Ya Jeep', 'Reach' etc.
And in the mail (no pics - sorry)...
A pretty cool hip-hop/dance batch. The Prodigy 12" has a Dust Brothers remix that takes me back ... The DJ Chillout and Kool Chip 12" samples 'once in a lifetime', and is pretty cool.
The Prodigy - Voodoo People - 12" Jive the Word - Four Track Sampler including Whodini and Fresh Prince - EP JVC Force - Strong Island / Levi 167 - Something Fresh to Swing to - Promo - 12" DJ Chillout and Kool Chip - Rhythm is the Master - 12" Stereo MC's - Lost in Music - 12" Stereo MC's - Supernatural - LP Big Man on Campus - Play that Funk - 12" Special Ed - Think about it - 12" 2 Live Crew - Yakety Yak - 12" K9 Posse - Aint nothing to it - 12" Crash Crew - 2468 Here we are - 12" TOC - Bring down the house - 12"

The pics axe-f had up 1st are thumbnails - click on'em and they blow up for maximum pornographic effect.
Keith - if you haven't moved anything yet, you should hold those UK press prog jams until the next swap, only 6 weeks away at this point - I'll lace you with some quality for a couple of those.

Jerry Gonzalez plays Congas/Percussion.
Check out Kip Hanrahan's LPs on the same label for some nice shit (different , but very nice if you like percussion heavy stuff).
Jinx... get at me, I PMed about the LP.
