I don't have a camera, but the flea market treated me well today:
Rated X - Swift Lift Vocalist (Bay Area Random Rap) Prince - Purple Rain (Purple Vinyl) Bill Withers - Live at Carnegie Hall (beat-up copy but worth it for cheap) Das Efx - They Want Efx The Evasions - All Wrapped Up (british dude talking over a disco-funk beat...strange 1980) Mantronix - Fresh is The Word (OG) Sequence - And You Know That (OG Promo)
Rhetta Hughes - Light My Fire (heater of a Doors cover)
But by far the best find was a very clean copy of:
dilated peoples '3rd degree' 12.. mad skillz 'move ya body' 12.. lotug 'faith / what im after (i know you) remix' 12.. lotug 'what im after' 12.. immortal records 'the next chapter' 2xLP (unsigned stuff from 93, dilated, phil da agony etc) whitey don 'lyrical shot' (w/ phife and krs) 12.. j dilla 'make em nv' 12.. el michels affair / raekwon 'the pjs.. from afar' 12.. pete rock '914 / the pjs' 12.. (feat some dudes from lox and rae and masta killa) mobb deep 'survival of the fittest' 12. (some remix promo thing) omnisciece 'touch yall' (feat sadat x) 12.. rascalz/kardinal offishal/thrust/choclair/checkmate 'northern touch' 12.. mos def/dcg/ces 'urban thermo dynamics' lp..
Some more heat from a local shop that's been trickling out a serious reggae collection for the last 6+ months. Put a bunch more on hold, gotta wait for the wallet to catch up...
Are you in Auckland? I think I recognise some of those LPs......
Get ye to Chch fellow Gnu Zilanders and rummage through the new bits at Penny Lane.... they seem to have unearthed some more estate collections, perhaps I think - back of the store unsorted in cardboard boxes.
Was there over the weekend and pulled some nice 7s for a $3 a pop
Mohawks - The Champ / Landscape on PAMA (2 of these in same box!) Quincy Conserve - Alright In The City / Somebody Stole My Thunder Quincy Conserve - Soul Thing / ????
Gave one of the Mohwaks to my mate who also pulled some dub / reggae bits that had him grinning - I'm out of my zone there... no idea what's what.
The QC versions of Somebody Stole My Thunder and Soul Thing are frikkin great from what I heard in the store - can't wait to check 'em tonight.
Def worth a look from time to time - leaves Real Groovy ChCh and Galaxy in the dust (so to speak) for 2nd hand bits.

Oh bro, thanks for blowing up the spot. I may as well share now too. That shop is definitely worth the $200 return airfare I spend to hit it at least twice a year. I am booked for mid May so I hope you left me some 45s. If you get a chance to use the bathroom, do because there are boxes stashed away all up the stairs & the upstairs rooms of that store too, my advice is to take a long piss break & cop some fire out of the upstairs stash while you are at it. Also, the dude that runs the store for the owner doesn't know jack about stuff as long as it isn't 60s/70s rock. It even helps if you hand him copious amounts of 45s B-side up so he rattles the obscure titles off to the owner down to phone & tries to describe condition also. $2 45s, yes thanks. No Eft Pos though so bring cash. Those Quincy Conserve cuts are both great, 'Soul Thing' is essentially a instrumental re-work of 'I Got You (I Feel Good)' with a different middle section.
I used to hit pennies on the regular when i was living in christchurch, I know a few boys that still hit it every couple of weeks, and it sounds like it is still a goldmine.
