    Thanks, H.

  • Just went with a friend the other day to get one, all they had was the ART phono pre, it was listed at $50, works fine.

The Rane PS 1 is nice but they don't make em anymore. I use the pre's on my Rane 52 (soon to be a 56))

    Hi,

There are also nice preamps done by KAB & Graham Slee. I was particularly impressed by the graham slee.

  • actually, no, it wasn't even that fancy. That one looks straight though. The one he got was nothing more than a little black cube with RCA stereo in and a 1/4 inch and rca stereo out. No volume controls. They probably don't even make it anymore. Gotta love guitar center.

The art one should be cool, but if you want to get fancy without blowing money on ebay for Urei,

Balanced mic level outputs for using whatever mic pre's you got, miniplug out for laptop recording etc, plus standard gold rca's. I may have a hookup on these if anyones interested, hollr....

    what's really

"The bane of cheap vinyl reproduction is excessive brightness/harshness. The Bellari sounded focused and articulate, but rich and warm too - with an attractively full bass and sweet open mid-band,"

    That's pretty much why I want a pre-amp but doesn't every pre-amp do this?
I like what Unheard Mentality posted, that's what I'm trying to get my setup like.

Thanks to all for the recommendations.
