Hey I've been digging disco for about a year now and there is no shortage of good 12"s and 45s out there but often when it comes to buying LPs you're lucky to get about one, two or three dope tracks. So what are some LPs are out there that contain at least 70% ? recommend away...

Maybe more funk than disco, though.
DISCOFUNKBA... OK, time for some new schtick. Yeah, more raw sounding than your average Disco.
Prelude - Mastermixes vol.1
Gonna Get over You - France Joli
Come Let Me Love You - Jeanette "Lady" Day
Dyin' to Be Dancin' - Empress
You're the One for Me - D Train
Body Music - Strikers
Give It to Me (If You Don't Mind) - Conquest
Must Be the Music - Secret Weapon
Searching to Find the One - Unlimited Touch
Can You Handle It - Sharon Redd
Love Fever - Gayle Adams
I Wanna Take a Chance on Love - France Joli
I met some strutters down there but cant remember which (blame the drink)
northside records
great if you want the best of prelude.
this is not an lp...more of a comp of 12"s from other artists.
the sharon redd has about 3 different mixes, one from a 12" that i prefer over the mix on this comp.
shep was killin it tho !
brass construction 1, 2, 3 ,4 etc...
skyy
mass production
slave
chic
logg
calendar
taanya gardner
shalimar
rinder & lewis ( 7 deadly sins)
crown heights affair
heatwave
atmosfear
strutt
first choice
most of these groups with the exception of 2 or 3 all have a number of lps that are easy to find.
some of the titles border in boogie ( logg/ slave)...especially the prelude titles, as they did not include lorraine johnson on that comp
a few...
Oh, but I can.
go 'head...
Pillow Talk is that classic mellow disco - a sure guilty pleasure.
This one too, electro cosmic stuff:
I would go nuts if I had to listen to this album from start to end. Those twisted sounds that are on top of the music throughout gets pretty annoying after a while. At least to me. I can much better get down to their other LP with the black border on the cover...."Atmosphere strut" or something, is the title.
Definitely a personal favourite of mine too. Very soulful, and such a nice production alltogether.
Also one of the obvious ones to mention is Tommy Stewarts LP.
possibly one of the best titles ever!!!
nah we didn't meet. i'm not really a strutter per se, more like a lurker with a post count...
Disco Lps is almost an oxymoron. I cant think of an ALBUM that is st8 ahead disco on all the tracks.
And all the tracks being above average.
yes sir, but if you alert me to dope comps i'm not going to front.
But if youre coppin comps you might as well stay w/ the 12" for the bigger grooves. Especially if your playin those thangs out. Disco is really a singles format.
kon & amir/uncle juniors friday fish fry/ the cleaning.
shameless self plug, not just disco...but the disco on this comp is top notch.
panache is pretty good
executive suite ( patrick adams) not the 12" from down south...that is good too tho
cop the p&p comps..probably the best raw disco sound period.
dimitri from paris has some good comps as well.
COMPLETELY INSANE AFRO DISCO FUNK MADNESS ? TOTALLY RARE AND UNPOPSIKEABLE------------>!!!
Hmm, looks a bit late for Disco. Boogie? Moder?
Are you talking about that "Executive Suite 1" LP only released in Europe? I always considered this soul. It has two slamming tracks "When The Fuels Runs Out" and "You Believe In Me".
Here are some I recommend:
-"Get Off"-Foxy.
-"Disco Nights"-GQ.
-"Goin' Home for Love"-Jimmy "Bo" Horne.
-"Do You Wanna Get Funky with Me"-Peter Brown.
-"Diana"-Diana Ross.
Peace,
Big Stacks from Kakalak
the disco gold lp isn't really disco... patti jo = not disco.
That's rather arbitrary... what would you call it then?
Imo believe in me is definetly disco...really disco is just soul/r&b with a danceable beat played in "discoteques"
strings and a steady beat.
