When I originally read this, I thought you were talking about Flim & The BB's.

  • Is it actually happening this time???

    yeah - that's the 2007 class

  • so you're telling me a band who's covers (Ice Cream Man, You Really Got Me, Dancing In The Streets, Pretty Woman, etc.) are as well known as their "hits" should be regarded on a different level than Grandmaster Flash??? Please explain

Wow, are they really as innovative and important as Van Halen?!!

GMF and the FF basically invented rap music- I think that's pretty damn innovative and important.

  • Exactly what I thought looking at this thread. It took me a minute to figure it out...

Is Bill Laswell in the "H.O.F."?

No--it has not yet been validated.

  • Grand Mothers Funck.
quintessential jazz fusion outfit from Switzerland.
features Dave Feusi on sax (formerly of 'The Contemparabic Jazz Ensemble)
best known (in hip hop circles) for the apocalyptic drum solo on 'Dancing In The Funkshine'.

"They blend uplifting melodies, thundering grooves and trance-like chants in a familiar yet distinctive fashion." - Bill Laswell.
