Afterhours PHOTOSHOP Question - Stencil effect?

Can somebody tell me how to make a photo image look like a stencil? I have PS 7.0. Isn't there a filter that does this? If not, how would you suggest?I'm trying to make something that looks like this:look more like this:Not exactly like these, but hopefully you get the idea. Thanks for any help.

Only takes one click to the effects menu in Microsoft Photo Editor, Photoshop should be just as easy.

image>adjustemnts>desaturate -

brightness contrast: pump up the contrast to like 80 and mess with the brightness slider till your happy with the detail.

For a little overspray, invert it, set your background colour to white, then filter>distort>diffuse glow

There are a few different ways to accomplish this. It would help to have a better source image and remove the background.

Image/mode/grayscale
Image/adjustments/brightness/contrast
